Meet Dr. Mario Valdes!

Dr. Valdes has been a Doctor of Physical Therapy since 2020, graduating from the highly esteemed University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Before becoming a physical therapist, he worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer in an outpatient physical therapy clinic while pursuing his Doctorate degree.

After graduating, Dr. Mario recognized that traditional physical therapy wasn’t meeting the diverse needs of all patients. That realization led him to found NONSTOP PT + Recovery. His mission? To break away from the “norm” and deliver the exceptional, personalized 1-on-1 physical therapy experience that patients truly deserve.

Dr. Mario specializes in diagnosing and treating orthopedic and sports-related injuries. He has worked with individuals and athletes across all skill levels. Committed to excellence in his field, he is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association and is currently pursuing a Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy via the distinguished Manual Therapy Institute. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Valdes also serves as an assistant instructor at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Coral Gables, FL.

But Dr. Mario isn’t all work—he enjoys staying active at the gym, playing golf with friends, and spending quality time with his family. He’s a proud husband and father to his wife, Corina, and daughter, Lucia, as well as a devoted dog dad to Arya, NONSTOP PT + Recovery’s beloved therapy dog.

Mario at NONSTOP is caring and compassionate! I suffered a torn meniscus and thanks to him I was able to avoid surgery. My father suffered a lower back and leg injury that brought with it very bad pain, numbness, and very strong cramps in his legs, which were caused by the long inactivity during the pandemic. He is in his late 70s but is a renowned martial artist who was in the best physical shape when this happened. We did the rounds and took him to various ortho doctors who specialize in spine and hip injuries and guest what… ALL of them recommended surgery to fix his problem to end his grief. We were very concerned because at my father’s age, we did not want my him to go through an invasive surgery with considerable risks, so we spoke to an old family friend who recommended Mario as a talented physical therapist who specializes in treating sports injuries and senior patients. We gave it a try and was a life changing experience from the get-go... Mario is a very knowledgeable, friendly, and empathic professional who listened to my father’s needs carefully and developed a tailor-made PT plan to strengthen my father’s core muscles. Fast forward 6 months. My father is now a different person and back to being his usual self. I recently went to train with him and noticed that he is moving freely, has no more back pain or nasty leg cramps, and is even physically stronger than before the pandemic started. He is now teaching martial arts again like he used to, so I couldn’t be happier with the result! We are so thankful to Mario because he brought my father’s life back and I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for the best physical therapy and avoid invasive surgeries.

There are numerous physical therapists in Miami, but none like Nonstop Physiotherapy + Recovery. Mario and his team work tirelessly to help their patients, no matter how difficult the situation may seem. My 9 year old son plays soccer and races go-karts at a high level. In late 2021, he was diagnosed with a chronic hamstring strain and started therapy with various other therapists. There was zero improvement. After hearing other success stories, we met Mario and began therapy with Nonstop. The results were amazing, my son returned to playing soccer within months. Even after he returned to the field, Mario and his team called and continued to offer exercises and recommendations to continue strengthening the leg.

Recently my son suffered another injury that set him back significantly. Mario and Isabella have not only work with him to regain strength and improve his gait, they have focused on the psychological impact of the subsequent injury and helped him work through it. I could never thank Dr. Mario Valdes enough for aiding the healing of my back. When I met Mario I had chronic back pain. The pain stopped me from doing the things I loved like weight lifting, going to the gym, mountain biking and my overall morale. After meeting with Mario we set up a detailed plan for my road to recovery. This included weekly physical therapy sessions and strengthening work outs. Throughout the process Mario was very encouraging, thorough, professional and adaptive to my needs. In just 3 months my life was changed, I no longer had daily back pain and was able to get back to my favorite activities. I continue to visit Mario to avoid future pain/injury.
